All Of Life Is All For Jesus

We want to share our wonderful Staff with you!

Hear a bit about the people who make our church a welcoming place to come and learn about making All Of Life All For Jesus.

Thank you, Beth Border, for all you do for our church!

What ministry do you work in, and what do you love most about your job?

Director of Early Childhood Ministries.  I love seeing our sweet little kiddos get connected with the church and seeing families go from being anxious to leave their precious babies and toddlers, to seeing their children excited to be here, sad to leave and to see them excited about Jesus!

How long have you been at Redemption Gilbert, and what made you call this home?

We moved to AZ in 1998 from PA.  My husband and I drove across the country and then my dad and step mother flew out with our 2 and 7 year old sons.  My dad and I visited the Gilbert Chamber of Commerce and one of the brochures he picked up was for East Valley Bible Church.  It looked like it was worth checking out and we knew where Elliot Road was, so we tried it….and have never left.

What’s your favorite passage of scripture and why?

Romans 8:28- ‘For we KNOW that God causes ALL things to work together for good to those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.”  WE KNOW!!!  It’s a promise!  ALL THINGS!  That means He doesn’t waste anything in my life.  It encourages me and it challenges me to look and SEE what He’s doing.  I challenge myself to “SEE my 828 moments”.

What is one of your favorite childhood memories?

I grew up in a rural area of south central Pennsylvania.  In my elementary years, we lived next to huge wooded area.  My older and younger brother and I loved to play in the “woods”, especially by the creek, where we’d take the plants around us, shred them and pretend that we were prepping food for a festival (and the story line we created got more and more elaborate every time we “went to the woods to play festival”).

What was your first job?

Aside from my paper route (very first job), then babysitting; my first job was as a bus girl for a PA Dutch Smorgasbord.

What’s your favorite Hymn or Christian song and why?

“It Is Well With My Soul.”  Love the truths of this hymn and the story behind it brings an added richness to the words.

If you could travel anywhere in the world (if money was not a concern) where would you go and why?

I’m not someone who dreams about travel.  Having much of my family on the east coast, I truly just wish I had the ability to travel back east to be part of more family events, or to be able to spend more time with my kids.

Complete the sentence “I wish everyone could…”

Extend the grace and kindness to others that they would like others to extend to them.

What is your favorite hobby?

Being creative!  (artwork, repainting my furniture, repurposing my home decor, etc…)

If you could have any super human power, what would it be?

To make everyone understand the gospel.

Do you prefer mornings or nights?

Probably mornings…but not a strong morning or evening person.

What will always be one of your favorite family traditions?

From the time my boys (now 24 and 29) were babies, we bought them a special ornament each year for Christmas.  The ornaments were always reflective of what they loved that year.  When they got married, we passed on all of their ornaments to them to start their own trees.  We still give them a special ornament each year and now Nick and Chelsea are returning the tradition by giving us a special ornament each year (which is an added treat).
