Good morning Salties,
Have I said that I miss you? I think I did but I’ll say it again, I miss you!
Our next lesson, whenever that will be, is an interesting one. Chapter 5 is one of the many genealogies in Scripture. This one describes the ever-narrowing line through which the Messiah, the promised seed of the woman, will come. It’s also a grim reminder that the wages of sin is death. They all lived long lives yet with one special exception, Enoch, all died. He was a demonstration of the fact of life after physical death. Enoch walked with God, figuratively of course since he was still a sinner “in Adam”. Walking implies a forward movement, a slow and steady progress and walking with someone indicates going in the same direction. Walking with God for us means moving away from sin. In today’s environment one of the things that means is not operating out of fear or panic but in trusting God’s sovereignty.
Let’s never lose faith in the end of the story.
In Christ’s love, Neil
