I really miss our time together going through Genesis. Last time we looked at the expansion of secular culture from 4:17-26. How the first city built by Cain and his descendants was built to the glory of man rather than God. How Lamech the 7th generation from Cain was the first bigamist who bragged about his sin to his wives while Cain was conflicted and anxious, lying to cover it up. His defiance was an example of the downward spiral that occurs when we leave God out of the equation.

But we also saw how God’s work is carried on despite the circumstances when people in Seth’s line called upon the name of the Lord. Let’s make sure we continue to call upon the name of the Lord our provider and protector in these turbulent times.

Just a reminder that we have a team of volunteers who are available if you need assistance. sherrysimon@redemptionaz.com is our volunteer coordinator so don’t hesitate to contact her.

Please take a moment to read this inspiring message from Daniel Schaeffer below.

Love in Christ, Neil

We believe too easily that if only circumstances were different, we would be different. We must let go of this false security blanket. Please believe me when I say that not one single thing has to change in your life to bring you peace. Not one situation requires removal.

On the contrary, if you can find peace in the knowledge that God is in control of your life, and intimately involved with it now, then God’s peace is always going to be available to you. If things have to improve first, situations change, problems be removed, before you can rest in his providential care, this truth is simply academic. Until you have experience it, you cannot imagine the joy of knowing peace in the midst of the storms of life, of knowing that fear and despair can never bully you again. Never is the truth more valuable than when it becomes more real to you than the trouble you face. And this is where He means to bring us.Daniel Schaeffer
