Good morning Salties,
It’s already been a wild morning for me and it’s just starting. I wanted to make sure I get something out to you before my next meeting or the next round of paperwork needs to be submitted. I’m grateful that one of the applications was delayed by an hour.
As I reflect on the names of God in the midst of all this activity, I must remind myself that apart from Him I can do nothing. I can’t manage the responsibilities to complete the necessary tasks during this crazy time without Him. He is the one with all the power, literally omnipotent. The name that reflects that truth is Elohim-Powerful God-Genesis 1:1 – “In the beginning, Elohim created the heavens and the earth.” God alone is eternal. “God has no origin, and it is precisely this concept of no origin which distinguishes That-which-is-God from whatever is not God.” (Novation, as quoted in Tozer’s The Knowledge of the Holy.) If we remove the heavens, what would be left? Nothing? I don’t believe so. I believe that even the nothing (the vastness that holds our universe) was created. I don’t know how to comprehend that there wasn’t even “nothing.” See also Isaiah 40:26-31; 44:6-8; 45:5-25. Jesus is our Elohim, because “All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.” (John 1:3) In Christ, we can know God’s power, the ultimate power that raised Christ from the dead (Eph. 1:17-21,) and because God is so powerful nothing shall separate His chosen ones from His love (Romans 8:31-39.)
Let’s continue to pray that by His power those battling this virus will begin to get ahead of it so that the spread will begin to slow and that He would get the glory for it!
Love in Jesus, Neil
