Community & Global Initiatives

Participating in God's mission of blessing the nations in Christ.

What is Community & Global Initiatives?

We strongly believe that all members of the body of Christ are sent people, called to proclaim and demonstrate the gospel to the world. In response to the needs in our community, and God’s heart for the nations, we build global partnerships and facilitate opportunities to participate in God’s mission of blessing the nations in Christ.

Redemption Gilbert participates in many ways with programs and partnerships around the city, nation and globe but we have an intentional focus on:

Three horizons of ministry: Close, Near, & Far.

Close: Redemption Foster Care, Kinship & Adoption

There is an orphan crisis around the world. Children who have lost parents, been abandoned by parents, or been taken out of dangerous environments, are in need of stable homes and loving families. James tells us that caring for vulnerable children such as these is close to the heart of God. Therefore we, the people of God, must lead the way in recognizing this great need and stepping up to meet it.

This issue is very near to us. Arizona has a massive foster care crisis, with thousands of children in the foster care system. The state simply does not have enough homes to care for them all and they are asking for the church’s help.

Near: Redemption in Alaska

Tanalian Bible Camp exists to come alongside the Bible-believing churches in rural Alaska by providing an opportunity for evangelism, discipleship, and Christian fellowship through camping, conferences, retreats, and Biblical education.

Far: Redemption in Ethiopia

Our partners like Help One Now in Ethiopia, provide sustainable and holistic care, and training to provide at risk children with the assistance they need to leave a life of forced labor, prostitution and homelessness.

Near: M25 Collections

M25 comes from Matthew 25, where Jesus taught that whatever we do for the marginalized and poor, we do for Him. Redemption Gilbert regularly hosts collections for organizations in our community to help reach and impact these populations.

“For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.” -Matthew 25

M25 Partnerships

Willis Junior High School

We are honored to partner with Willis Junior High School, a local Title 1 Program School that is a few miles from our church campus. We partner by providing additional resources to assist their school and students in low-income families in a tangible way to empower the students to do well academically and to show them they are loved and valued.

Angel Tree

Every year around Christmas we come together as a church with a mission to bless hundreds of children who have incarcerated parents with Christmas gifts. We share the love of Jesus with both these children and their parents who are not able to purchase gifts.

Redemption West Mesa

Redemption West Mesa, located just a few miles from the Gilbert congregation, has a relationship with the local school and community.  Mentors are needed to help the students with their homework and English.  Classes are held for adults in the areas of English, Computers and Citizenship.  Once a student attends a class they are eligible to receive items from the Redemption West Mesa Store.  Bible studies are held on Monday and child care is provided.  It is a great opportunity to be a light in the community.  If you are interested in helping, please contact Josue Lopez.

Mt. Nebo Prison Ministry

Mt Nebo Prison Ministry seeks “to penetrate every prison with the sound, biblical teaching of our Historic Christian Faith; establishing men and women that handle God’s Word accurately and apply it to their lives.
