Tim Maughan

Lead Pastor
About Tim

I have been married to Susanne since 1984. We have four sons. Benjamin, Jedaiah, Jesse, Eli.

I grew up in a pastors home but didn’t know Christ until my college years. Its always true that God shows you the bad news of our sin before he shows us the good news of his grace. That’s what God did for me in the summer of 1980. I saw my sin for the first time as something that was a big deal to God and something I couldn’t deal with. I embraced the forgiveness of God that was provided through the finished work of Christ on the cross.

Now these many years later, I’m even further blown away at what God provides in and through Jesus. The grace that God has shown us through the church He continues to build here in Gilbert is amazing and I am thankful to be able to be a part of it.

Paul Artino

Lead Pastor
About Paul

I’m married to Lauren and have two daughters and one son: Evangeline Love, Vera Grace, and Silas Jacob. They are my most favorite humans of all time.

After what can graciously be described as a “reckless” college career, God saved me while working as a waterski instructor/boat driver guy at a Summer Camp in Florida. My journey has included working in construction, marketing and advertising, oyster shucking (seriously), as a children’s pastor and as a pastor to college students and young adults.

I currently serve as one of the Lead Pastors at Redemption Gilbert, and when I’m not around Redemption Gilbert, you can find me at home being sneak-attacked by my kids, posting up my interns on the basketball court, or wandering around the out-of-doors.

Neil Pitchel

Pastor of Central Operations
About Neil

Kate and I were married in Boston on August 20, 1977. We have lived in the valley since 1989. We have a daughter Cali who is a Director of Marketing for a google analytics firm in Seattle. Our son David works for Chase as a mortgage originator and lives in Gilbert. We’re all avid sports fans (mostly Boston teams). Kate and I love to travel, especially on cruises.

I was raised in a Jewish family in Boston so I knew nothing of Biblical Christianity until I first heard the gospel while a student at UMASS. After many years of struggling with the difference between my Jewish upbringing and the “gospel of grace” I decided Jesus was a great teacher and prophet like Abraham or Moses. Then I read “Mere Christianity” by CS Lewis and had to decide if Jesus was Lord, liar or lunatic. After reading the New Testament and watching the lives of Christians I knew there was only one possibility that He was indeed my Lord and Savior.

Bruce Barclay

About Bruce

Growing up in Oak Park, Illinois, God brought me to Arizona to attend ASU.  It is there where I met my wife of over 36 years, Terese.  We have two sons, Josh married to Jordan and Caleb married to Kelly.  We have three interesting, curious and active grandchildren, who are a great joy!  I currently work as an engineer for General Dynamics and have a heart for workplace ministry.

God radically transformed our hearts and lives when he brought us to East Valley Bible Church (now Redemption Gilbert), what a great blessing this church is to us!  My wife and I have a passion to encourage and mentor couples in their engagements and marriages.   For fun, we love to gather around the table, enjoy travel and play pickleball together.

One of my favorite quotes is from Randy Alcorn’s book Safely Home, is from a character named Li Quan.   Li Quan writes “Real gold fears no fire”  That is my prayer for God to refine me with fire.

About Chuck

God brought my wife Kathi into my life in 1980 and we were married in 1982.  We have three children-two of which are married.  Tanner and his wife Jenna attend Redemption Gilbert, while Becca and her husband Jonathan, along with Paul our youngest, live in Eugene, Oregon.  I am a contractor by trade and my wife Kathi does biblical counseling with Redemption Church.

I was raised in a church going family but did not know Christ.  Kathi and I were married in the Catholic church but both of us were drawn and came to faith in Christ a few years apart under Tom Shrader’s teaching ministry.  We have both been active members of Redemption for about 22 years.

David Kronwald

About David

I was born in South Dakota. My family relocated to Arizona when I was in grade school. God saved me at the age of eleven. Through both struggles and celebrations, Christ has been my constant anchor. I am grateful to Him for his love, mercy, and grace. He has and continues to bless my life beyond measure. I have been married to my best friend, Ann, since 1979. We have four grown children, John, Jaclyn, Jordan and Jamie. John and his wife Lindsay, are active at Redemption Gateway. Jaclyn, her husband Steve, and Jamie are all active at Redemption Gilbert. Jordan and her husband Josh are active at Cornerstone church. Our kids have blessed us with eight grandkids.

I work at Western Foodservice Equipment and Design, where I design and equip commercial food service facilities. In addition to my role as an elder, I also lead an RC Group in south Chandler. Redemption Church has impacted our family in tremendous ways. We have attended here since the first service in November, 1991. I love this church and so appreciate the sound Bible teaching, great music, and friendly people.

Brian Berger

Youth Pastor
About Brian

I am married to Julie Berger. We are both native Arizonans. In fact, our dads both graduated from Coronado HS together in 1969. We have two kids, Katelyn and Tyler. We live in Chandler. We love sports, board games, and sharing our lives with our Redemption Community.

I trusted in Christ for my salvation as a 7th grader at a Scottsdale Bible Church winter camp in 1989. I was already a fairly moral kid, a good student, a pretty good athlete, and now I had Jesus. It seemed to me to be the icing on an already pretty good cake.

It wasn’t until my Junior year at Arizona State that I really started to understand the truth about who I was. It was a terrifying thought that God searches mind and heart rather than outward appearance. In my heart, I was indifferent towards God and zealous for baseball. I didn’t live for his pleasure, I lived for the approval of man. I felt like every moral act I’d ever committed was done more to keep up an appearance rather than out of service to the Lord Jesus.

I found Christian Community in ASU’s Fellowship of Christian Athletes. I also started to attend East Valley Bible Church with my girlfriend and Tyler Johnson, my teammate. It was there that God started to show me how the cross of Christ was way better than I had ever before imagined it to be. I’m still walking a narrow path today thanks to God’s grace and the many people in our church that walked with me, encouraged me, and taught me along the way.

Justin Marshall

Pastor of R/Kids
About Justin

Nicole and I are college sweet hearts and were married in 2003. We have five beautiful daughter’s and two sons. I love The University of Michigan Wolverines and I am a Sun Devil Alumni–college football Saturday’s are my favorite hobby. As a family we are passionate about foster care and adoption. We love the opportunity to live out scripture together as a family.

I was born in Detroit, Michigan but have converted to a life long desert rat. I love Arizona and the ability to enjoy so many aspects of Gods creation in one location and the fact that the beach is only six hours away isn’t bad either.

I spent the first part of my life growing up in a Baptist church where I learned to be a good kid on the outside. I was morally compliant but I knew there must be more. After my father accepted a job offer; me, my brother Eric and our parents moved to Arizona. I started junior high in Arizona and quickly realized all the temptations the world has to offer and found myself drifting from the things of God. I started believing the lies of selfishness and self gratification. In 1998 after attending Redemption for a couple years; God opened my eyes and changed my heart. The Gospel became clear and Jesus became my everything.

I love that the Gospel is not age graded. It is exactly what a high school and junior high student need. Being in student and children’s ministries for the last 15 years has allowed me to see Jesus is what a student needs. My desire is that students meet Jesus and plant a firm foundation that will propel them into their lives as followers of Jesus.

Jeremy Olimb

Pastor of Adult Discipleship
About Jeremy

My wife, Rachel is an amazing woman. She is beautiful, funny, caring and loves Jesus. We were married in 2000 and have two boys: Asher and Beck.

I grew up in a loving, Christian family on the rural plains of Eastern North Dakota. I was a church kid, attending a Christian grade school, at church every Sunday and Bible Camp in the summer. At the age of 22, I married my best friend, Rachel, and in the process had to face the lack of ownership of my faith and ability to lead my new wife. I found myself face to face with my sin, my failures, and the understanding of my need for Jesus. Shortly after our wedding we moved to Arizona to start our life together. In the challenge of making a new marriage work, we found ourselves at the Gilbert congregation and quickly began to grow in in the Lord and together as couple. It has been a huge blessing to be a part of this congregation.

Sean Warren

Pastor of Communities + Guest Services
About Sean

To know me, is to know my family. My mother and father, born in the depression era, modeled quiet servanthood to their family, friends, church, and community. They had 6 children of which I am the youngest. I observed the burdens they carried in life and their love and confidence in Jesus. Those burdens and their love have shaped me into the person I am today. Abuse, addiction, and incarceration touched the lives of some of my siblings. This gave me a perspective and sense of compassion, at an early age, to the struggles and fears of this life.

I knew that I wanted to help people myself, but didn’t know exactly how. I attended a Christian college, where I met my best friend Jill. We married, and served domestically and internationally in ministry, but God had an alternate and unexpected path for us to take. It was only upon moving to Arizona that we really understood that “All of life is all for Jesus” and there is no distinction between the secular and the sacred. ALL IS SACRED. This truth has profoundly impacted and liberated us, and we are striving to instill it deeply into our 4 great kids, Sophia, Lola, Isabella, and Keifer (my man cub).

Shannon Butler

Associate Pastor of 7TEN
About Shannon

Married to the love of my life, Sabine, since 2007 and we have two loving children, Senia 13 and Shamar 10.

Born and raised in Tallahassee, FL, I grew up in a Christian home and forever indebted to my family for their out pouring of love and support throughout my life. I was saved on Oct 16th 1988 in my childhood church and life didn’t get easier for me, however it did become clearer to me of my need for a savior. Athletics afforded me the opportunity to attend college at The Northern Arizona University where I would find my wife and my purpose in life. Not a bad deal.

I came across Redemption Church through a former teammate and mutual friend Roger Robinson which has lead my family and I to become members of this great congregation in 2016. I’m currently in my last year of seminary school at MTC (Missional Training Center) and serving as pastor with 7Ten our young adults ministry. I continue to stand in awe of the wonder of Jesus and thankful for the redemptive work of the cross.

I married the love of my life and high school sweetheart in 1998 and then was blessed to become the father of two. My boy Micah in 2001 and my beautiful little girl Madison in 2002.

I am an Ohio native and claim my roots for only one reason. OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY! Go Buckeyes! Moved to the Chicago suburbs at age 9 after a short stint in New Jersey. I was blessed to grow up in a Christian home and made a profession of faith at a young age. The gospel became more real to me progressively as I experienced my own sin and God’s overwhelming grace. God has been so merciful in my life to put me around people and places that challenge and encourage me.

Aaron Bower

Pastor & Manager of Commons Bookstore
About Aaron

I was born in 1973 in Mesa, Arizona and was raised by two hard-working parents who gave up nearly every comfort to provide for their six children.  Our home was a safe place – one of integrity, order and discipline.  I have five older siblings.  When I was five, my grandmother insisted on buying me a piano and my parents somehow managed to scrape up the funds to put me in piano lessons.  A fun story on the discipline of our home…I remembrer a moment where my dad told me that if he ever had to practice my music, he would get a hatchet and use the wood from the piano to fire it up!  Dad is a man of his word, a point for which i extend great honor  – but I was pretty sure he wasn’t kidding, so I probably drove the family nuts with all the piano playing.

But The Lord uses everything, so he’s afforded me the opportunity to use that skill and passion for music in the Church in general, and Redemption Church in particular.   I’ve been on staff at Redemption in one capacity or another since 1998 and have enjoyed the journey immensely.

For me, the greatest joy in my many years here has been the constant illumination of the scriptures and the preaching, which has always been incredible.   Growing up with  significant residue from a holiness tradition – one where you measure your relationship to The Lord with an assessment of your own obedience to the Law – I have been challenged on a weekly basis to trust in Christ alone and lean into the hope of Christ and rejoice in the Gospel.  Jesus is my hope, and I know I offer him nothing of value.  God is satisfied in Christ alone, and I’m the recipient of his grace and favor BECAUSE of Jesus.

I have the great privilege of managing the Commons, and serving in worship ministries on a regular basis.

I’m married to Debbie Bower, my delight since 1997 and have two beautiful children, Harrison and Makenna.  We live in Chandler.

John Bell

Pastor of Facilities
About John

I grew up in Oregon and Idaho. I moved to Arizona in 1986 where I met and married my beautiful wife Leslie in 1988. God has blessed us with three children who are now “mostly grown.” I worked in business until 2007 when I joined the Redemption staff.

When I was young, I became aware through the Bible that I was created to be in a close relationship with Jesus. But, my natural sinful tenancies kept me from Him. I learned that I could not earn God’s favor but that I must truly repent, confess my sins, and trust that Jesus will make things right again. I knew in my heart this was true so I repented and trusted in Jesus. God changed my heart and that has made all the difference.

Aaron Kass

Production Administration
About Aaron

I am an Arizona native, born & raised. Grew up playing athletics of all kinds, but devoted much of my time to golf, playing competitively through high school. It was about that time, in the wake of finding Redemption Church, that God brought me to grips with the idols of worship in my life, radically bringing clarity to the depths of my sin and my need for a Savior. From that point on, with tremendous freedom I began aiming to live all my life, for Jesus.

Within a short amount of time after that, I would meet my wife, Britney, in Redemption Youth. We would go on to date a few years before getting married in July of 2006. We have 3 children: Rylee, Rory, and Jovi.

I have attended Redemption since 1998 and have been on staff since 2004. A lot of life has happened since, but one prayer remains the same–that I may be small, so God may be made much of, and glorified.

About Ben

My father is a pastor, my fathers father was a pastor…so you could say I’ve grown up very involved in the church from the beginning. I can’t say I remember a moment when it all “clicked.” I believe God used the gift of childlike faith as well as time to draw me to Him.

I have been working full time for Redemption Church since 2007 and get to do many things, and work with many people, that I love. My hope is that everything I do here stays in the background, and yet glorifies God and blesses people. In 2015, I married my beautiful wife Alli, and life has never been sweeter. God has been gracious to me.

About Beth

Scott and I were married in Palmyra, Pennsylvania on May 31, 1986.  Our oldest son Nick lives with his wife, Chelsea, outside of Pittsburgh, PA. Our son Luke and his wife, Hope, live in the valley and our son, Chris, lives in California. Having spent the first 33+ years of my life in Pennsylvania, it will always be a huge part of who I am; whether it’s my Pennsylvania Dutch heritage or my passion for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

I grew up in the church, learning from my earliest years about my sin and need for a Savior. I gave my life to Christ at a young age and grew slowly in my faith throughout my childhood.

After moving to Arizona in 1998 with my husband and two young boys, we found Redemption Gilbert (then East Valley Bible Church).  EVBC and specifically the teaching of Pastor Tom Shrader were the vehicles God used to grow my faith deep, to see His sovereignty and experience His hand weaving all parts of my life together for His glory and for my good.

Guest Services Admin
About Brenda

Native to Arizona, but spent my childhood living in Texas and Alabama before returning to Arizona in 1977. Mom raised us up in a Southern Baptist church and then started attending our local Air Force base church where I was involved in ministry. Even though at a young age I loved Jesus, I did not fully understand the relationship I needed to have with him, because it was still all about me and the things in the world I loved.

After marrying my husband, Justin in 1992, and having two beautiful daughters Rianna Rae and Cierra Jean, life for me became unfulfilled. Broken over my sin, God put it in my heart to diligently seek Him. He orchestrated friends and events that lead me to this church where I began to grow in my faith. I’m so bless to have a God that is loving, patient, full of grace and mercy. I love working here, because each day I get to experience what Jesus looks like through each brother and sister in Christ I serve alongside with. And I love them all!

About Brett

I was born in Atlanta Georgia and attended a Baptist church growing up although I did not know Jesus as my Lord and Savior. It wasn’t until I moved across the country to Arizona and met my future wife that God began to open my eyes and heart to who He is and the depth of my sin.

I met my beautiful, fun, amazing wife Ronda on a blind date and married her in 1997. God has blessed us with two great sons Jonas and Nixon. Through conversations as to how we would raise our family, we were led to this church and we immediately began serving His people. Its through the love and grace of Jesus and His provision in our lives and our marriage that our eyes and hearts have been opened to Him.

About Cindy

I was born and raised, along with my three sisters, in Northern New York, 45 minutes from the Canadian border. I graduated from ASU with a BA in Elementary Education and a minor in Child Psychology. Married my best friend, Kenneth, in 1992. We have four children, Lucas, Lauren, Samuel and Emily, as well as two beautiful grandchildren.

Both my husband and I grew up in a legalistic church and in our early adult lives we both left the church. We became engaged and started looking for a church to get married in. Through friends we found a church that we liked and started premarital counseling. God used this church and the pastor to save us both during this weekly counseling.

We eventually found Redemption Church to attend in 1999. God has used Redemption Church to strengthen my relationship with Him, to learn His Word and to rest in His grace and mercy.

About Connor

I am an Arizona native and the youngest member of a family of four. My family and I have attended Redemption Gilbert since 2007. I graduated from Mountain Pointe High School in 2014, and graduated from GCU with a bachelors degree in Christian Studies in December of 2017. Shortly after graduating I married my wonderful wife Nicole McKenzie in April of 2018.

God gave me faith in Jesus Christ during a Redemption summer camp of 2007. But following Him was a struggle for me for many years. I led a lifestyle that was contrary to what I believed- and hid it from people.

In my first week of college God in His mercy restored the joy of my salvation, and gave me friends that helped me love and enjoy Him. Ever since, God has graciously given me joy, and removed significant sin from my life.

I love Redemption Church – it is family to me, and I love that I get to serve here.

About Cory

I was born in southern California, but have also lived in Montana and Washington until my family found themselves led by God to Arizona when I was 8 years old. I don’t remember the exact age I came to know the Lord, although I do remember having a deep love for Him from a young age. My walk with Jesus has had its ups and downs, but along the way God has been beyond gracious and patient with me, which I am so grateful for.

I started attending Redemption Gilbert once I graduated high school in 2014 and immediately dove into the life and community of this church from the start. My first year at Redemption Gilbert marked one of the biggest years of spiritual growth I’ve ever had in my life. It was also the year that I felt moved by Christ to take steps towards vocational ministry. I graduated from Grand Canyon University where I got a degree in Biblical Studies and met my beautiful and lovely wife Crystal who I married in June of 2018. I love this church community and am so blessed to serve here.

About Deanna

I am an Arizona native, born and raised in Tucson (yes, I am a University of Arizona alumni and an even bigger U of A Wildcat fan!) I married my high school sweet heart and best friend, Tim, in 1988 and we have five amazing children: John Michael (wife, Amber), Courtney (husband, Tyler), Chelsea, Matthew and Joshua, a beautiful granddaughter, Lauryn, and another grandbaby due to arrive. We are incredibly blessed!

I grew up in church, learning from a very early age about my sin and my need for Jesus. I was saved at a young age, and slowly grew in my faith over the years. However, by the time I was married, I felt like my faith had stalled, I was just going through the motions and going to church became more of a “to do” rather than out of a desire to seek God. (By God’s divine appointment), we moved our family to Gilbert in 2001, after my husband, Tim, accepted a job with the Gilbert Fire Department. We were invited by some friends to visit Redemption Church and this has been our church home ever since. God has used this church to grow us, challenge us, revive us, renew us, and by HIS grace, transform us!

I began serving in childcare on campus during Women’s Ministries events in the spring of 2001, and in 2008, joined Staff as part of the Children’s Ministries team. It is such a joy to have the opportunity to serve our Redemption families and to share the Gospel with children each Sunday! I am truly humbled and blessed to serve along side a wonderful team, our pastors and Godly leaders, who are passionate about the Lord!

I was born in Geneva, Illinois but shortly thereafter, we moved to Gilbert in 1998, so Arizona is all I know.

I have two absolutely amazing parents and 3 older brothers that have been such an important influence in my life from day one. My dad is a pastor so I obviously grew up in the church . Using that, God really cultivated in me a heart for the church and seeing people grow, wherever He has and/or will place me. I remember believing in God at a young age but that’s as deep as it went. I can’t really recall a specific time or place where God saved me, but for growing up in the church He has really utilized that to develop, challenge, and spiritually grow me into knowing that I’ve done nothing to earn my salvation and that He is my Savior.

I was born in Columbus Ohio, but i don’t know much about Columbus – my father was in the Air Force and we lived in the locations that he was stationed at: Florida, Philippines, New Mexico and Arizona. I am the fifth child out of seven – 3 brothers and 3 sisters (of course, I am the favorite).
I have been married to my husband for 25 years, we have 4 adult children all who live out of state. We have truly been blessed to have traveled to 13 different countries – and have lived in the Philippines (4 years) and Korea (3.5 years).
We have also spent time volunteering while living in Korea through The American Women’s club and the 8th Army Base on Yongsan.
After moving to Arizona, we started attending Redemption Gilbert (then East Valley Bible Church) in 1998, under Tom Scrader’s teaching. I started volunteering in the Children’s Ministries in 2003 with the Preschool age children. While volunteering in the Children’s Ministries, Jesus got a hold of my heart in the 4/5 year old classroom and He revealed the Gospel to me through the eyes of a child. “But Jesus said,”Let the children come to me, don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children”.
Shortly after that I became a part of Staff in 2005. I am currently involved in Angel Tree, our Prison Fellowship Ministry and Redemption Women.

I grew up in a literal one stoplight town outside of Savannah, GA. I am one of eight, with six brothers and one sister. While I’m not from a Christian family, I did grow up attending church. It wasn’t until my Freshman year of college that everything finally “clicked” for me.

We moved to Arizona in January 2017 for Matt’s job. We moved out here not knowing anything or anyone in the Phoenix area. I attended Redemption for the first time in July of that year, and immediately fell in love. I’ve been here ever since. My biggest passion in life is serving the “next generation” and guiding them to a place where their faith in their own.

I have continued to grow in my understanding of His great and gracious love for us. God has given me amazing opportunities to grow through teaching kids about His love in the church and school setting.
I moved here to Arizona in the summer of 2017, met my wonderful husband Brian and started attending Redemption Gilbert. The teaching and community here have been such an encouragement to me personally and to us as a couple. I am so thankful for the opportunity to be a part of the R/Kids elementary team and invest in the lives of our students pointing them to Jesus each week!

Marsha Rosser

Special Needs Coordinator
About Marsha

I grew up in Lansing, Michigan and attended a Baptist Church in my neighborhood. God has always pursued me but I didn’t have the eyes or heart to see until I came to Redemption Church. I started working in Kids Konnection and attending at Redemption Church in 1999 at which time I joined Children’s Ministry as Special Needs Coordinator. God had been preparing me for this position for many years. He has also been changing the hearts of our entire family ever since for His glory.

My husband and I married in 1975, and have raised two special daughters McKenzie and Morgan. McKenzie’s marriage has given us a wonderful son-in-law and a new granddaughter Weslie. God has blessed us beyond what we could of ever imagined or deserved.

MaryAnn Little

Commons Bookstore Assistant + Café Barista
About MaryAnn

My husband Jim and I married in 1993. We’re a blended family, and share 5 kids and 2 grandkids. A bit of his, mine and ours, and we’re here to say…it works.

I was raised in a loving Catholic family and didn’t know Christ as my Savior. At 20 years old, an elderly couple kept asking me to go to church with them. One Sunday, I agreed. God saved me a week later. It was not the happily ever after story….But God (I love the But God) was there for me through every hard time and taught me more than I could have imagined. He really loves me!!!

We’ve been attending Redemption since 1998 and have served in different ministries including Childrens, Womens, and leading a Friday night Redemption Community together. Then joined staff in 2007 and have loved being a part of this body and serving in a church where God is glorified and His Word is taught.

Mary Donovan

About Mary

I was married to Jack in 1974 and am the mom of 4 children and grandmother of 4 grandkids.

I was born, raised and married in Massachusetts and 3 years into our marriage Jack took a job in Wisconsin where we spent 18 years before moving to Arizona.

God graciously opened my eyes to salvation in Christ Jesus when I was in my 20’s and struggling in my sin. He pulled me out of a works based religion and made it clear that His death, burial and resurrection had accomplished my salvation by paying the full penalty for my sin! That truth changed my life forever and He is my Rock, my Strength, Comfort, and Helper plus so much more!

Mason Gailfus

Lighting Designer & Video Production
About Mason

My wife, Dani, and I were married in 2014. We have enjoyed the growth God has begun in our hearts through this new chapter of life together.

I was born and raised here in Arizona. My family was not really a church going family except for holidays. I began going to Redemption Church when I was in Jr. High. I went through student ministries and was saved at a Summer Camp my freshman year. My mother passed away that following year and that was a real test of my “new” faith. But God has only grown me more and more in my trust in Him since. I began working with the Production Team my senior year of high school. My wife and I met that same year and began dating soon after. Redemption Gilbert has been my home for years and I have loved serving in any way God needs me.

Rachel Olimb

Communications Manager
About Rachel

I grew up in a town of 300 people in rural North Dakota. As God would have it, so did my best friend since 9th grade and my future husband, Jeremy. We were so excited to get married in 2000, and just about as excited to pack up a UHAUL and begin our lives together in the sunny state of Arizona. We had the entire state to choose the location of our first apartment in, and of course God orchestrated a million circumstances for us to land one mile away from this church.

We have been at now Redemption Church for 20 years, and are forever grateful for how God has shaped and molded us through the teaching and the community of friends here that have become our family. I’m thankful to have had the opportunity to work on staff with Children’s Ministries for 10 years, and now am blessed to be working alongside the Communications team at our church that I love so much.

Randy Heape

IT Helpdesk Technician
About Randy

God introduced me to my wife, Alice 38 years ago. We were a blind date. I married a Christian girl, and I thought I was a Christian, but God revealed to me that I was a “fence-sitter”. I moved my family from Southern California to Gilbert, AZ to help start a business, “our way”. But God, instead, started it “His Way”. I was invited to attend a Priority Living business breakfast. It was there that God in His way exposed me for who I was and created a desire to know Him on a personal level.

We’ve been attending Redemption Church for 20 years. We were blessed with a son, Spencer. He is a product of Redemption’s Student Ministries. Alice and I have served in children’s ministries, student ministries, and newly marrieds. The RC group we attend has driven me to a deeper relationship with Jesus. Now I get to serve the staff at Redemption. I am truly blessed.

Ronda Osborne

Administrative Assistant
About Ronda

While still a newlywed, I started to think about what I would tell my kids about God. Which led to what I believed about Him. Those questions are exactly what He used to draw me to Himself. Around this time, I was invited to a Bible study where those questions I had about God, the world, humanity and myself started to be answered. Coming to the Lord in faith in the Spring of 1998 changed absolutely everything!

Redemption Church was the vehicle God used to grow my faith deep. It’s where I met my “In Christ” family and friends. I am continually in awe of His love, provision and His faithfulness toward me. Even before I knew Him, He was there…always there.

I have been married to my awesome husband Brett since 1997. We have two amazing sons, Jonas and Nixon.

R/Women Admin
About Sherry

My husband Roger and I married in 1988 and have two amazing kids – son Cory and daughter Jordan. Cory is a 2018 graduate of ASU in Finance and works for Northern Trust. Jordan is in the Mary Lou Fulton Teacher’s College at ASU and is planning a career as a bi-lingual elementary educator! We’re almost “empty nesters”, as Cory is on his own and Jordan is never home! LOL!! And we’re kinda liking it!!

I have been attending Redemption since 2001.  I always thought I was a believer (grew up in a “mixed marriage” of a Methodist mom and Catholic dad). It wasn’t until I started attending Women’s Ministry and serving in the kitchen that I realized I WASN’T saved! Good Friday, 2001 found me on my knees, blubbering like an idiot realizing the magnitude of my sin and in awe that He would send His only son for ME! I haven’t looked back!

I love serving the women of Redemption. My passion comes from the fact that it was through this ministry that God saved me! I look forward to what He has in store for me and the women of Redemption!

Summer Montoya

About Summer

I married my best friend Paul, when I was 19 and shortly there after found out I was pregnant. Through a new and difficult season of life, God brought my husband and I, two un-churched people to Redemption Church in 1996.  God took my heart of rebellion and stone and broke me. I am thankful now for the circumstances he used to bring me to my knees and see my need for a savior.  God was so good to save my husband and I during the same season.  He grew us together in Him and knit our hearts close as husband and wife.  We’ve been married since 1996 we have 3 crazy kids and a home full of laughter!  I couldn’t be more grateful for the family God has entrusted to me, the grace he fills me with to love them everyday and a sense of humor for the moments when I am weak.

Susan Miller

Campus Coordinator
About Susan

I have been married to my wonderful husband Lloyd since 1990. We have 4 grown children and 5 beautiful grandchildren who we adore. All are here in Arizona as well.

Lloyd and I are both originally from California. We moved to AZ in 1997 due to the recession and Lloyd’s business in construction plumbing. We found Redemption Church shortly after and this has been our church home since.

I began as a volunteer at the church in 1997, then joined the staff in 2000 in Women’s Ministries. When the church expansion including the Conference Center took place 5 years later I became the Campus Coordinator. Through all of our changes and transitions over the years, I count it a great blessing to serve and be part of the Redemption Church staff. We are so blessed to have such a gifted, devoted, godly group of leaders at this church. I am thankful to work along side of them.

Susan Timpani

Elementary Director
About Susan

By God’s grace, He saved me as a teen involved in my High School’s Young Life program. I am overwhelmed by His goodness as He has grown and shaped me through the decades of work, marriage and parenting the wonderful children we’ve been given. Raising our children in Gilbert, we eventually made our way to Redemption Church. The sovereignty and grace of God became our life’s anchor and our family flourished in the rich teaching, serving and fellowship environment. One of the great experiences and privileges of my life, has been to be on staff at Redemption Church. Through my ten years as a part of the Children’s Ministry team, I have seen God work in and through the Godly leaders and pastors that guide our congregation. It’s a tremendous blessing to have the opportunity to share the love of Jesus with children each Sunday!

Native to the NW, I became a desert dweller, along with my terrific husband Pat, when we married in 1986 and moved to Arizona. Our children, Ryan, Mark and Katie are a true gift. We are looking forward to the great joy that our first grandchild will bring, due Fall 2015 to Mark and Brie.

On Being a Local Congregation of Redemption Church

Redemption church is multi-congregational in structure. This means that a central governing body provides structure, direction, and support for the ministry of each local congregation. Local congregations, like Redemption Gilbert, are united and collaborative, but each has its own leadership and is free to contextualize its efforts. Click on the link below to learn more about the overall structure of Redemption.

We are a non-denominational church with a Reformed view of salvation. We believe that all of life is all for Jesus. We have been saved by grace through faith, which is itself a gift. That gift empowers us to be a transformed people who embody His redemptive power and participate in the renewal of all things.

We are a sent people. As the church we are not called to turn inward and build our own kingdom. We are called to turn outward and give ourselves to the spread of the Gospel, the establishment of healthy local churches, and the multiplication of disciples. This is a call to invest beyond our church, beyond our tribe, and beyond our generation.

Community and Global Initiatives

We strongly believe that all members of the body of Christ are sent people, called to proclaim and demonstrate the gospel to the world. Therefore our community and global efforts should never be limited to structured programs. However, in response to the needs in our community, and God's heart for the nations, we do build global partnerships and facilitate opportunities to participate in God's mission of blessing the nations in Christ.
