Abraham trusted God, although he did not know where he was going and was promised many things that were not fulfilled in his lifetime. He trusted God and walked with him through infertility, war, famine, uncertainty, threats to his family and lived as a nomad in a hostile land. Then Abraham was asked by God to make the ultimate sacrifice. Could he surrender his only son to God? In this 10 week study, we will learn why Abraham is our father in the faith, how he became a blessing to the whole earth, and how the covenant promises given to him were ultimately fulfilled in Jesus Christ. Homework: 2-3 hours/week.

Hannah Anderson wrote her second book, “Humble Roots,” not as a sequel to “Made for More” but a continuation of the other side of our identity with God. As Hannah Anderson explains, “We often misunderstand humility
as a heightened awareness or our deficiencies, but humility is better
understood as an awareness of our limitations as human beings. Our
ability to rest and be at peace is tied directly to whether humility is
taking root in our lives”. Join us for this 6-week course as we read
and discuss what God’s Word says about each particular aspect of
humility intertwined with a plant metaphor.

It’s important to reflect on and remember who God is and what He’s done. Hymns have the unique ability to not only share truth of God’s Word through song, but the stories behind the hymns and hymn writers bring an additional depth and power to their meaning. Join us for this 6-week class for a time of devotion, reflection and encouragement as we look at how hymns speak to trust, faith, hope and the gospel. No homework.
