A Community of Young Adults

What is 7TEN?

7TEN is a Tuesday night gathering of young adults (18-30ish) that come together to worship, explore the Word of God, and connect. We desire that this would be a catalytic moment that creates movement towards Gospel community and mission.

Every month we will be exploring God’s Word together as it speaks to topics relevant to our generation. Join us on the 1st three Tuesdays of each month at 7:10PM in the Commons at Redemption Gilbert.

Not sure if we’re meeting? Click the calendar below.

Through Jesus, God has set us right with Him and has given us the ministry of setting things right. In light of who He is and all He has done for us, we respond to that call. As such, we trust that God will use us to reach our generation with the life-giving Gospel of Jesus Christ in the world around us.

Redemption Communities

Redemption Communities (RCs) are small groups where discipleship, growth, and life happen within 7TEN. They are a great way to build strong relationships while exploring God’s word and applying it to your everyday life. Get involved in a community, be challenged, and be on mission in this world!

Paul Artino

Pastor of 7TEN
About Paul Artino

I’m married to Lauren and have two daughters and one son: Evangeline Love, Vera Grace, and Silas Jacob. They are my most favorite humans of all time.

After what can graciously be described as a “reckless” college career, God saved me while working as a waterski instructor/boat driver guy at a Summer Camp in Florida.  My journey has included working in construction, marketing and advertising, oyster shucking (seriously), as a children’s pastor and as a pastor to college students and young adults.

I currently serve as Executive Pastor at Redemption Gilbert, where I provide oversight and vision to our Guest Services teams, our Community and Global Initiatives, and 7ten, our gathering of college students and young adults.

When I’m not in my office laughing with Jed, you can find me at home being sneak-attacked by my kids, posting up my interns on the basketball court, or wandering around in the out-of-doors.

Shannon Butler

Associate Pastor of 7TEN
About Shannon Butler

Married to the love of my life, Sabine, since 2007 and we have two loving children, Senia 9, and Shamar 6.

Born and raised in Tallahassee, FL, I grew up in a Christian home and forever indebted to my family for their out pouring of love and support throughout my life. I was saved on Oct 16th 1988 in my childhood church and life didn’t get easier for me, however it did become clearer to me of my need for a savior. Athletics afforded me the opportunity to attend college at The Northern Arizona University where I would find my wife and my purpose in life. Not a bad deal.

I came across Redemption Church through a former teammate and mutual friend Roger Robinson which has lead my family and I to become members of this great congregation in 2016. I’m currently a student in the MTC (Missional Training Center) seminary school and serving as a residential pastor with Students. I continue to stand in awe of the wonder of Jesus and thankful for the redemptive work of the cross.

Jed Maughan

7TEN Worship Leader
About Jed Maughan

I was born in a pastor’s home and have been surrounded by solid theology and gospel teaching my entire life. Thankfully God did not allow me to think that somehow that made me His child. At a younger age God let me start feeling the weight of my sin so that I knew that I needed a savior and right around my freshman year of High School is where I’d say my walk with Him really began. I met my beautiful wife Whitney in September of 2010, we were married 5 years later and she is my best friend in the whole world. The closest people to me are my family. My dad and mom, Tim and Susanne, and my 3 brothers, Ben, Jesse, Eli.

Eli Maughan

7TEN Worship & Graphic Design
About Eli Maughan

I was born in Geneva, Illinois but shortly thereafter, we moved to Gilbert in December of 1997, so Arizona is all I know.

I have two absolutely amazing parents and 3 older brothers that have been such an important influence in my life from day one. My dad is a pastor so I obviously grew up in the church . Using that, God really cultivated in me a heart for the church and seeing people grow, wherever He has and/or will place me. I remember believing in God at a young age but that’s as deep as it went. I can’t really recall a specific time or place where God saved me, but for growing up in the church He has really utilized that to develop, challenge, and spiritually grow me into knowing that I’ve done nothing to earn my salvation and that He is my Savior.

Connor McKenzie

7TEN Intern
About Connor McKenzie

I am the youngest member of a family of four. I graduated from Mountain Pointe High School in 2014, and am currently enrolled as a student at Grand Canyon University. Moreover, I am in the process of earning a bachelors degree in Christian Studies with an emphasis in Biblical Studies.

God in His loving sovereignty gave me faith in Jesus Christ during a Redemption summer camp going into my seventh grade year. Sadly, the next five years of my life were filled with wild debauchery and anxiety. Unfortunately, during this time period I became the president of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes club at my high school, and hid the lifestyle I had been leading from many.

In my first week of college God in His mercy restored the joy of my salvation, and placed me in a Christocentric community.  Ever since, God has graciously exploded His joy into my life, and removed significant sin from it.

I currently serve as a 7TEN intern for Redemption Gilbert where I get to help college students and young adults get connected to RC groups within the ministry. Additionally, I assist in the setting up for 7TEN, and I work with the guest services team on Sundays. I also sometimes get to do food runs for my coworkers.

Outside of the workplace you will probably find me doing homework in Peets Coffee, playing sand volleyball, or randomly nailing some high-arching 3 pointers on the basketball court with Paul, Jed, and Cory.
